Introduction

 

Wanted: Zoo Curator!

You have been hired by the curator of a local zoo to help in setting up a new wolf exhibit. Your group is expected to research the physical characteristics, hunting habits, or habitat information of wolves.

Task

Using the provided online resources, your group will research the assigned topic.


Your group will present their information to the zoo curator and your fellow students in the form of a PowerPoint presentation.


To test your knowledge, the zoo curator requires that each group play
Wolf Memory, an online game. The group that scores highest shall remain employed by the zoo. The "WolfQuest" award will be presented to that group as well.

5. Evaluate your presentation using the rubric for this WebQuest.

6. Share PowerPoint presentation with the class.

7. Play the Wolf Memory online game. Record your score.

Goals and Objectives of this WebQuest

*Students will explore and research general information about wolves and record that information on their fact sheets.

*Students will utilize the Internet to gather their information.

*The learners will design a PowerPoint presentation with that information.

*The students will play
Wolf Memory online game to test their memory of different types of wolves.

*The learners will use the rubric to evaluate their performance.

*The class will work together in cooperative groups to accomplish their tasks.

*The learners will develop a better understanding of wolves as a result of this WebQuest.

Target Audience

This WebQuest was designed to be used with special education sixth-graders. The target class is a remedial reading class. A fiction selection in our reading text was about wolves. This WebQuest was created to complement that story.
